- Dr. Ross Deckert
- Dr. Deckert grew up in southeast South Dakota. He moved to Newton, KS for the last 2 years of high school. He joined the Marines in 1965 and served with the 1st Marine Air Wing in Vietnam in 68 and 69. Dr. Deckert attended Kansas State University, and graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1976. After graduation he worked in a mixed practice in LaCrosse, KS for 1 year. Dr. Deckert then moved to the southwest Denver metro area where he still resides. He worked as an associate at the Alpine Animal Clinic for 1 year. The next year he worked for the Central Veterinary Emergency Hospital. In April of 1979 Dr. Deckert started the Mobile Small Animal Clinic. This is the first full time house call practice in the Denver metro area! Dr. Deckert has been married to Sheila since 1965. They have two sons who are grown and have their own families. Dr. Deckert likes to garden, bicycle and fly fish.
- Sheila K. Deckert
- Sheila grew up in rural Kansas where her mother still lives. She attended Wichita State University where she met Ross. They were married in 1965. Sheila attended and graduating from Cosmetologist School. She worked at her profession for 16 years. She was the bread winner and had 2 children while Ross attended veterinary school. She has been Dr. Deckert’s secretary and receptionist for the last 25 years. In her spare time she likes to garden, she has enjoyed breeding and showing Miniature Pinschers for almost 15 years, and of course spoiling her 3 grandchildren.
